On 14 July 2009, the architects' registration authorities in Japan and New Zealand entered into a "Memorandum of Cooperation on Registered/Licensed Architects in Japan and New Zealand to Facilitate Mobility of Architects in the Provision of Architectural Services."
These means that APEC Architects from Japan and New Zealand can seek registration in each other's economy via a fast track procedure agreed to under the APEC Architect framework.

Japanese APEC Architects wishing to apply for registration in New Zealand must do so via NZRAB Registration Pathway 8 which is described
